Looking after your candle
Candle care & Safety
Soy Wax has a memory, it is very important to always let your wax melt completely to the sides of the jar, especially with the first burn. If you put your candle out too soon before the wax has melted to the sides your candle will tunnel down the centre and the wax will remain on the sides of the jar and your candle will not burn properly. In allowing this 'memory burn', you will ensure maximum burn time and the best possible scent throw.
Once your candle has burned to the sides, and for a few hours blow it out. You can use a candle snuffer or gently blow. Once the wax has hardened again, and before your next burn, gently trim the wick. You can gently break off the top of the wick with your finger, but it is recommended to use a wick trimmer.
By always trimming your wick you will ensure your glass does not get black on the sides and your candle does not blow black smoke. If your glass does become black around the sides, it is easy to clean off with a paper towel once the glass has cooled.
If your candle has more than one wick you must make sure you light both wicks each time you burn your candle.
REMEMBER:
-Never leave a burning candle unattended
-KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN, PETS and FLAMMABLE MATERIALS!
-Do not burn the candle in a drafty area
-Never move a burning candle
-Never use water to extinguish the candle
-Always trim the wicks before each use
-As a general rule, never burn a candle for less than 1 hour or more than 4 hours.
-If your wick flickers repeatedly, smokes or the flame is really big, extinguish the candle and wait for it to cool then trim the wick.
-When there is about 1.5cm left of wax in the glass stop burning the candle. It is complete. You can clean it out and recycle around the house, or you can return to LuLuLove for a refill.
Enjoy!
